Physician-Led Dental Anesthesia
Dr. Harry Acevedo is a physician anesthesiologist with advanced fellowship training in Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology and Transesophageal Echocardiography from the world renowned Cleveland Clinic.
He earned his M.D. from Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in San Juan, Puerto Rico, followed by a General Surgery internship and a four-year Anesthesiology residency at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. He then completed fellowship training in Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at the Cleveland Clinic, with advanced expertise in the anesthetic management of complex cardiac and major surgical patients and formal training in TEE/heart imaging.
His clinical background includes cardiothoracic anesthesia, hospital-based anesthesiology, perioperative medicine, and the care of medically complex patients. He has also served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida and practiced at Moffitt Cancer Center. He currently still practices Cardiothoracic Anesthesia for multiple hospitals in Florida.
At Endothetics, Dr. Acevedo provides physician-led anesthesia and perioperative care for dental and specialty procedures, collaborating closely with the dental team to manage anesthesia, airway, and physiologic monitoring at a physician level.
His approach is particularly suited for patients with dental anxiety, complex medical histories, special needs, or extensive treatment needs, applying hospital-based anesthesia principles to the dental setting with an emphasis on individualized planning, vigilant monitoring, airway preparedness, and patient safety.
